Made from coffee? Tell me more!

Every pair of Rens is constructed from 300g of locally sourced and recycled coffee grounds and the equivalent of 6 recycled plastic bottles. All coffee used in the production of Rens is post-consumer waste that would otherwise end up in landfills and contribute to climate change.

Are Rens vegan? YES

Yes, all materials, dyes, and adhesives are 100% vegan! No animals were harmed in the making of these awesome sneakers.

Do Rens sneakers smell like coffee?

Rens (unfortunately) do not smell like coffee. The anti-odor properties ensure they actually don’t smell like much of anything at all.

Where and when can I choose my color and size?

You will receive an email after the close of the Kickstarter campaign with instructions on how to pick your favorite flavor of Rens and choose your best fit.

Do you offer wide sizes?

Rens come with standard medium size width however the 4-way stretch material may be flexible enough to comfortably accommodate a slightly wider fit.

What is the exchange policy if my sneakers don’t fit?

We want you to get the best fit and have the most comfortable experience in your new pair of Rens. We recommend that you carefully follow all measurement and sizing instructions to ensure you get the perfect fit. Full instructions will be emailed to each individual backer at the close of the campaign. If for any reason your shoes are not the perfect size, simply pay for shipping (both to and from) and we will gladly exchange your original pair. In the unlikely event of a shipping error, we will happily send you a new pair at no additional cost.

How do you handle returns and refunds?

You can request a refund from Kickstarter at any point during the campaign. Each pledge serves to ensure successful production and delivery of our products to every one of our backers, as a result, refunds will be limited to the duration of the campaign. Of course, if there is a factory defect, we will gladly replace your defective pair under our 1-year limited warranty at no additional charge.

How should I clean my Rens?

We recommend using a small amount of any standard, non-solvent based detergent, and a clean cloth to wipe away any grime that won’t come off with a quick rinse.

Is there a difference between men and women's sizes?

Rens are 100% unisex in their design. Take care to select your appropriate size from the instructions provided at the end of the campaign. You will receive an email with full measurement and sizing instructions after the close of the campaign (August 15th).

Are Rens truly waterproof or just water repellant?

Unlike water-repellent materials, Rens do not use a coating or treatment. Rens are truly 100% waterproof thanks to our Aquascreen TechTM membrane. That means they will provide the same water protection as rubber rain boots while remaining breathable, flexible and comfortable all day long. Amazing right! We completely agree.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
